Mosaic project for primary school the Margriet in Ermelo, Holland. Three concrete poufs with mosaics for the schoolyard.
In February 2012 Artista, together with the students of the Margriet School in Ermelo, started a mosaic project.
The children have prepared the designs following three themes: forest, meadow and beach for three concrete poufs for the new schoolyard. Then they pasted the glass mosaic on mats of fiberglass mesh. The mats were applied to the poufs, grouted and polished.
June 13th 2012, it was the big day.
After five months of hard work, the students of the groups 3 - 8 of the Margriet School in Ermelo witnessed the unveiling of their own artwork by councilman Tom Nederveen. Accompanied by loud applause and the release of balloons for the charity "Drinking water for children in Bali", the councilman freed the three poufs of the fabrics and bows, which they were hidden underneath.
