School project for primary school RKPWA, Ermelo, Holland. Colourful pixel painting for the new school building.

In the spring of 2019, Artista worked with the children of the RKPWA primary school in Ermelo on a unique art project.
The children painted no fewer than 800 canvases, which together form one large pixel painting of 4 meters wide by 2 meters high.
All children from groups 1 to 8 and all teachers participated in the project.

The challenge was to mix all possible colours that were needed for the image from the primary colours red, yellow and blue with the help of some black and white.
Everyone mixed the right colour for the "pixel" (a painting canvas of 10x10 cm) and painted their own image of flowers, birds, butterflies, etc., in dark and light shades.

The result is ne large pixel painting. The image as a whole shows colourful flowers. The theme "flowers" was chosen because of the great diversity and many colour shades, which represent the equally great diversity of the children of the school.

The painting was festively unveiled on the 9th of September 2019 at the official opening of the new school building.
